Designed for play in either Slowpitch or Fastpitch softball. Both Fastpitch softball bats and Slowpitch Bats come with a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, and are composed of carbon fiber composites or aluminum alloy blends. Softball governing bodies like ASA, USSSA, NSA , ISF, and ISA determine what type of bat you will need.
Softball Bat Swing Weights
Softball Bats can be either balanced or end loaded. A balanced softball bat has weight distributed more towards the handle, while an end loaded bat offers more weight at the end cap. The type of player you are will help determine the swing weight you'll want to purchase and enjoy.
Softball Bats are available in: Composite softball bats, Metal bats, Hybrid bats, and Wood softball bats.
High end softball bats are made from carbon fiber composites, straight out of the space age. Easton, Miken, Worth and Anarchy use composite materials to make their softball bats stronger, lighter, and with bigger "sweet spots" than usual aluminum alloy bats. Aluminum alloy softball bats are generally less expensive though, and can still perform well of the softball field and at games. Many city co-ed and church softball leagues require the use of metal softball bats.
