Description
The Strato Flared is the Strato BBCOR — Axe's lightest-swinging alloy bat — fitted with the company's second handle shape. The Flared handle keeps the three things that make an Axe an Axe: a bottom angle that contours to the bottom hand, asymmetry that concentrates material on the pinky side so the backside stays free for follow-through, and a subtle oval. But every one of them is dialed down from the standard Axe knob, so it feels much closer to a round knob. You can choke up, hang the pinky off the end or rotate the bottom hand, and pressure spreads across more fingers instead of sitting under the pinky. Axe built it for players who found the standard handle's locked-in angle distracting.
The bat itself is the one-piece Armor Alloy Strato: a Precision Variable Blastwall barrel with three radial grooves and more than ten wall-thickness regions, a carbon-fiber HyperWhip end cap and Endogrid vibration cancelling under the bottom hand, balanced to about 9050 M.O.I. at 33". 2 5/8" barrel, -3, BBCOR .50 certified, one-year warranty.
