Rawlings REV1X Gloves

(5 products)

REV1X is the glove Rawlings built with Francisco Lindor when it decided a pro glove did not have to weigh what a pro glove has always weighed. The palm is steerhide, the same leather as Heart of the Hide, but the back is a synthetic shell, and the thumb and pinky carry 3D-printed lattice stabilizers in place of traditional padding. The result is dramatically lighter than a leather-backed pro glove, holds its shape without stuffing, and fits close thanks to the adaptive-fit back.

What we stock is the 11.75" 205 infield pattern in Pro H and laceless 2-Piece Closed webs, the 11.75" FL12 Lindor gameday model with a Pro I web, a 12.75" 3039 outfield pattern, and a Gold Glove Club REV1X release. Most are right-hand throw; the black laceless 205 is offered in both hands. Prices run from about $285 to $330.

If you want the traditional all-leather version of the same patterns, see Heart of the Hide. The limited colorway lives in Gold Glove Club, and the rest of the line is under Rawlings baseball gloves.

Why REV1X weighs less

A leather back and leather padding are most of a pro glove's weight. REV1X keeps the leather where it touches the ball (the steerhide palm) and replaces the rest: a synthetic back shell that does not stretch out, and printed lattice inserts in the thumb and pinky that stiffen the glove without stuffing. Because the lattice does not compress the way padding does, the glove holds its shape from day one instead of needing to be worked in.

Frequently asked questions

Does the REV1X break in like a leather glove? The steerhide palm still needs some catch to form a pocket, but the back and finger structure are set from the factory, so it is game-ready faster than a Heart of the Hide.

Is it as durable as an all-leather glove? The palm is the same steerhide as Heart of the Hide. The synthetic back is not leather and will not develop a leather patina, but it also will not stretch or go soft.

What is the laceless web? The 2-Piece Closed web on the REV205-9X has no lacing through the web, which means nothing to restring and a cleaner closed pocket for infielders and pitchers.

Which size should I get? The 11.75" 205 and FL12 are middle-infield and third-base patterns; the 12.75" 3039 is for outfielders.
