This one is the Fastpitch Softball pattern at 12" — a true do-everything glove — deep enough for the grass, controlled enough for the dirt. Underneath: a diamond pro steer usa leather shell, Ax Suede Microfiber lining, a pull strap back. Cut on an adjustable fit. For the fastpitch player who wants her glove to match the Ghost in her bag. How much break-in does it need?
Two to four weeks of catch — this is pro-grade leather that is stiff on purpose and holds its pocket for years. A little glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; skip the oven, microwave and shaving cream.
Is 12" the right size?
12" is an utility pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Fastpitch patterns run a quarter inch bigger than baseball for the 12" ball. Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
