Fastpitch Catcher's Mitts

(25 products)

Catcher's mitts built for fastpitch softball: 32.5" to 35", with a wider, deeper pocket than a baseball mitt so a 12" ball sticks. All Star makes the mitts most college catchers wear and we carry the Heiress (adult and youth), Future Star and PHX; Marucci brings the Caddo, Cypress, Ascension, Oxbow, Acadia and Palmetto; Mizuno the MVP Prime and Prospect; Rawlings the Liberty Advanced; Easton the Jen Schro and Fundamental.

Youth catchers fit a 32.5" to 33" mitt; high school and adult catchers wear 33" to 34". Prices run from about $60 to $300, and every mitt ships free. Need gear to go with it? See fastpitch catcher's gear sets.

Fastpitch Catcher's Mitts

Why a softball catcher's mitt: a baseball catcher's mitt has a pocket sized for a 9" ball. A 12" softball sits on top of it and pops out. Softball mitts run a larger circumference and a deeper, more open pocket, and the good ones (Heiress, Liberty Advanced, Cypress) are stiff enough to frame with.

Sizing: 32.5" to 33" for players under 13, 33" to 34" for high school and up, 35" for catchers who want the biggest target.

Break-in: All Star Heiress and Rawlings Liberty Advanced mitts need a couple of weeks of catch; the Future Star, Prospect and Jen Schro Fundamental mitts are game-ready.
