Description
The R9SB pattern at 33" is built for receiving — shaped to frame borderline strikes, funnel balls in the dirt and survive a season of bullpens. Rawlings' R9 fastpitch line brings the same soft, game-ready leather as the baseball R9 to softball-specific patterns — deeper pockets, adjusted hand openings and pull-strap backs where the fastpitch game wants them. Underneath: a soft, durable all leather shell, Cushioned Palm and Finger lining, a pull strap back. Cut on a narrow fit. Box to practice inside a week, at a price that leaves room for a bat. Available right-hand throw only.

How much break-in does it need?
A few days of catch. The leather is pre-conditioned and most players are gaming it within a week.
Is 33" the right size?
33" is a catcher pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in right-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
