At 31.5" it is built for receiving — shaped to frame borderline strikes, funnel balls in the dirt and survive a season of bullpens. The modified Pro H web adds a leather top bar for extra pocket security on hard-hit balls. The Shut Out is Rawlings' value play for fastpitch families: all-leather where it counts, pull-strap fit, softball-specific patterns, and a price that leaves budget for the rest of the bag. Underneath: a full grain leather shell, a velcro strap back. Cut on a narrow fit. Serious enough for travel ball, sane enough for rec. Available right-hand throw only.

A few days of catch. The leather is pre-conditioned and most players are gaming it within a week.
Is 31.5" the right size?
31.5" is a catcher pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in right-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
