Description
The Softball pattern at 11.5" is a shallower pocket that lets you find the ball instantly and get rid of it faster. The closed basket web forms a deep, secure pocket — favored by pitchers hiding grips and players who want the ball to stay caught. The Liberty Advanced has been a fastpitch fixture for years: full-grain leather, Poron XRD palm padding that takes the sting out of hot shots, and the deep pockets the softball game demands. Underneath: Deer-Tanned Cowhide lining, an adjustable pull strap back. A fastpitch standard for a reason. Available right-hand throw only.

How much break-in does it need?
A few days of catch. The leather is pre-conditioned and most players are gaming it within a week.
Is 11.5" the right size?
11.5" is an infield pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Fastpitch patterns run a quarter inch bigger than baseball for the 12" ball. Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in right-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
