Axe Bat is the asymmetric-handle brand: the knob is shaped like an axe handle so the bat sits in the fingers, the top hand stays behind the barrel through contact, and hitters get more bat speed and less hand sting. Once you have swung one it is hard to go back. The line runs from the Avenge Pro composite and Avenge Hybrid in BBCOR and USSSA, through the Strato one-piece alloy, to the Elite One and Elite Hybrid at the value end, plus the Hero for USA youth.

Most Axe bats come in the standard asymmetric handle and a Flared Knob version that is closer to a round knob for hitters transitioning. Prices run from the mid-$60s on closeouts to $230 for the current Avenge.

Shop by league on the BBCOR, USSSA and USA pages, or see the Strato series page. Free shipping from Anaheim, CA.

Axe Baseball Bats

The Axe line-up: Avenge Pro (two-piece composite, largest barrel, needs a break-in); Avenge Hybrid (alloy barrel, composite handle); Strato (one-piece alloy, hot on day one); Elite One / Elite Hybrid (value versions of the Strato and Avenge Hybrid); Hero (USA youth, ultra-light). The Reserve is Axe's maple wood pro bat with the same handle.

Is the handle legal? Yes. Axe bats carry the standard BBCOR, USSSA 1.15 and USA Baseball stamps and are approved in every league those stamps cover.

Flared Knob vs. asymmetric? Asymmetric is the full Axe experience and what most hitters end up on. Flared Knob is a halfway shape for players who want the handle benefits without changing their grip.
