What makes the Ghost different
The Ghost is the fastpitch bat players ask for by name, and the reason is the barrel construction it introduced and keeps refining.
Double Barrel
The original Ghost idea: a second barrel nested inside the outer barrel, joined at a VRS1 internal connection. Two thin walls flex more than one thick one, which is where the low compression, the sweet spot and the sound come from. The Ghost OG still runs this design in Sonic Comp with the ConneXion two-piece joint and a thin 29/32" handle.
Double Barrel 3
The Ghost Advanced version: same two-barrel principle, third-generation layup, built in Sonic Comp Max, Easton's highest-performing and most durable composite, with the ConneXion joint. The -8 and -9 Advanced are end-loaded and put more mass through the zone than anything else in the Ghost line; the -10 and -11 are balanced.
Double Barrel EXT
The Ghost Unlimited version and the first one-piece Ghost. The inner barrel is extended so the hitting surface runs a full inch longer than previous Ghosts, the largest sweet spot in the family, in Sonic Comp Max with no break-in required. With no connection joint the feel is stiffer and more direct than the OG or Advanced.
Which Ghost should you buy
Every Ghost carries the same five stamps, so certification does not decide it. Feel and drop do.
- Ghost OG – -9, -10, -11 – Double Barrel, two-piece – the classic Ghost feel at the lowest current-year price.
- Ghost Advanced -10 and -11 – Double Barrel 3, two-piece – balanced, for contact hitters, slappers and anyone who wants bat speed.
- Ghost Advanced -8 and -9 – Double Barrel 3, two-piece – end-loaded for power hitters.
- Ghost Unlimited -10 and -11 – Double Barrel EXT, one-piece – the longest sweet spot and a stiff, direct feel.
- Ghost Unlimited -8 and -9 – Double Barrel EXT, one-piece – one-piece feel with power weighting for strong hitters.
- Closeout 2022 Ghost -8 and -9 – Double Barrel, two-piece – prior-generation dual-stamp Ghost at the lowest price here, 33" and 34" only.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Ghost legal in my league? Yes for USA Softball (ASA), USSSA, NSA, ISA and WBSC, which covers high school, travel and college.
Does it need a break-in? No. Sonic Comp Max barrels are built to low compression and Easton says no break-in is required on the current Advanced and Unlimited.
Which drop? -11 for younger or smaller players and slappers, -10 for most high school and travel hitters, -9 and -8 for strong power hitters only.
One-piece or two-piece? The Unlimited is one-piece: stiffer, longest barrel. The OG and Advanced are two-piece: softer at contact, less sting on a miss.
What is the warranty? Claims go through Easton; keep your CheapBats order confirmation as proof of purchase. Closeout Ghosts are new bats in the wrapper.
Closeout or current model? The 2024 Advanced has the same Double Barrel 3 and Sonic Comp Max as the 2026 for about $200 less; the 2022 closeout is the prior Double Barrel generation. If your size is there, buy it.
What length? Most high school and travel players swing 32" or 33"; 30" and 31" suit younger hitters and the -11 models go down to 29".
