The Jen Schro Elite line is designed with the biggest name in fastpitch catching — gear shaped around how women actually catch, with a female-fit hand stall and a mitt built for framing and quick transfers behind the plate. Underneath: a diamond pro steer usa leather shell, Supple full grain leather lining, a conventional back. Cut on an adjustable fit. Catching gear designed by a catcher, not adapted from one. How much break-in does it need?
Two to four weeks of catch — this is pro-grade leather that is stiff on purpose and holds its pocket for years. A little glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; skip the oven, microwave and shaving cream.
Is 33" the right size?
33" is a catcher pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
