Easton Jen Schro Collection

(7 products)

Jen Schroeder is the catching coach behind The Packaged Deal, and her Easton line is catching gear designed by a catcher rather than adapted from a baseball set. The signature mitts are Professional Collection builds: Premium Reserve USA steerhide, rawhide lacing, full leather lining and the Quantum Closure back, cut with the pocket depth and pad she teaches with, plus a female-fit hand stall.

What is here: the 34" Rudi signature mitts from 2020 and 2024, the 33" MYWHY mitts developed with Jen Schroeder and Morgan Stuart, the 29.5" Flatglove training mitt, and two complete gear sets, The Fundamental and The Very Best, each with a NOCSAE-standard helmet, chest protector and leg guards. The 2024 Rudi and the MYWHY NoNo come in left-hand throw. Prices run from about $150 to $500.

Easton Jen Schro Collection

Which Jen Schro mitt

The Rudi is a 34" pattern for the varsity and travel catcher who wants a full-size mitt built to Jen Schroeder's specs; it is the same steerhide and construction as Easton's Professional Collection and the priciest mitt here. The MYWHY is a 33" pattern with a two-piece solid web, shaped to frame borderline strikes and funnel balls in the dirt, and about $100 less. The Flatglove is not a game mitt: it is a training tool with a flat palm that gives the catcher nowhere to hide the ball, so it has to be received clean and centered.

The two gear sets are the same idea for the body. The Fundamental is the entry set; The Very Best adds dual-layer padding, Clear Dri moisture-wicking padding and the adjustable shoulder cap and harness. Both helmets and chest protectors meet NOCSAE standards.

Frequently asked questions

Are these mitts sized for women? Yes. The hand stall is a female fit, narrower than a baseball catcher's mitt, and the patterns are cut for the 12" ball.

Left-hand throw? The 2024 Rudi and the MYWHY NoNo come in left-hand throw; the others are right-hand throw only.

Do the mitts need a break-in? They are game-ready steerhide with a full leather lining; expect some shaping time but not the month of mallet work a stiff baseball mitt needs.

What is in a gear set? Helmet, chest protector and leg guards. Sizing is on each set's page.
