What makes RCKLESS different

CNC-tuned multi-variable barrel (Gen 2)

The CAT family has always varied wall thickness inside the barrel to stretch the sweet spot. Gen 2 adds a CNC machining pass that refines that thickness along the barrel, so the sweet spot runs longer and off-center contact is more forgiving. On the alloy models this is one piece of thermally treated aluminum with no break-in.

A multi-stage thermal treatment strengthens the alloy for a more responsive barrel. The AV3 knob soaks up feedback on mishits, which matters most on the -11 USA and junior big barrel models swung by small hands.

Player-Optimized Flex handle and the stiffest hybrid joint

The Gen 2 Hybrid and Comp use a composite handle whose flex is engineered separately for each drop weight. The connection between barrel and handle is the stiffest hybrid joint Marucci makes, so the composite handle gives comfort without leaking energy at contact.

Fiber Layered Energy barrel (Gen 2 Comp)

The Comp is the loud one. A layered composite barrel built for maximum flex and response, with the handle flex tuned to the -10 drop. It is the model travel hitters buy for sound and feel.

CAT X RCKLESS and Rewind (Gen 1)

The first-generation RCKLESS pairs multi-variable barrel tuning with a balanced swing and vibration-dampening elements. The Rewind is the same family in a cream throwback finish: a one-piece BBCOR, a hybrid BBCOR with AZR barrel and composite handle, and a two-piece FLEX composite USSSA on the OLS connection.

Frequently asked questions

What certifications does the RCKLESS line carry? BBCOR .50, USSSA 1.15 BPF, or USA Baseball, depending on the model. The stamp is in the product title.

Is there a break-in? Alloy and hybrid RCKLESS bats are game speed on the first swing. The Gen 2 Comp, CAT X RCKLESS Comp and Rewind Comp have composite barrels and get better over the first couple hundred hits.

Which drop should my player use? -10 for most travel hitters, -8 for strong 11U and 12U, -5 for 13U and 14U, -3 for high school. USA Bat leagues use the -11 (or the -10 Comp).

Gen 2 or CAT X RCKLESS? Gen 2 is the 2027 update with the CNC barrel pass, thermal treatment and AV3 knob. The CAT X RCKLESS is the 2026 first generation with the same barrel family and a balanced swing. Both carry the same certifications; the earlier bats sit at lower prices.
