Pro Select is Mizuno's step below the Mizuno Pro line: US steerhide leather with tighter fibers for a firm, durable glove that still breaks in to a soft feel, built on the same design philosophy as the Pro gloves at a lower price. The older Pro Select models add a Steersoft Elite palm liner and player pocket designs; the 2025 models are steerhide throughout in Camel, Black and Forest Green.

The rack covers baseball infield gloves at 11.5" and 11.75", 12" and 12.75" outfield patterns, a 12.5" first base mitt and a 33.5" catcher's mitt, plus fastpitch gloves at 11.75", 12" and 12.5", a 12.5" fastpitch first base mitt and a 27.5" training catcher's mitt. Most are right-hand throw with a few lefties. Prices run from about $105 for a closeout to $330.

Mizuno's glove ladder runs Prospect (youth), MVP Prime (soft Bio Soft leather, game-ready fast), Pro Select (US steerhide, firmer, longer break-in, longer life) and Mizuno Pro at the top. Pro Select is the glove for a competitive travel or high school player who wants a stiff, shape-holding steerhide glove without paying Pro prices. It will take a couple of weeks of catch to open up, and it will hold its pocket for years.

Pattern guide: 11.5" and 11.75" for middle infield and third base, 12" for third base and pitchers, 12.75" for outfield, 12.5" first base mitts and the 33.5" catcher's mitt. Fastpitch Pro Selects run 11.75" infield, 12" infield/outfield and 12.5" outfield.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Pro Select take to break in? Longer than an MVP Prime. Steerhide is firm out of the box; plan on regular catch and a little glove conditioner over two to three weeks. Do not oven-bake or soak it.

Pro Select or MVP Prime? Pro Select if you want a glove that holds its shape and lasts; MVP Prime if you want to use it this weekend.

Are there left-hand throw options? A few: the first base mitts, some fastpitch closeouts and the 11.75" fastpitch. Filter by hand on the listing.

What is the warranty? One year from Mizuno.
