Description
Rawlings builds the R9 as the sensible middle of the wall: real leather, game-ready feel out of the box, and a price that doesn't require a family vote. The one-piece solid web is catcher's-mitt standard — maximum strength where the ball arrives hardest. This 32" cut is built for receiving — shaped to frame borderline strikes, funnel balls in the dirt and survive a season of bullpens. Underneath: an all leather shell construction shell, Padded Palm and Finger Linings lining, a conventional back. Cut on a standard|narrow fit. It's the sweet spot between department-store gloves and pro-shop money. Available right-hand throw only.

How much break-in does it need?
A few days of catch. The leather is pre-conditioned and most players are gaming it within a week.
Is 32" the right size?
32" is a catcher pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in right-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
