The Bedlam is Josh Riley's signature Worth slowpitch bat. The USSSA versions are built on Worth's X868 composite barrel, a carbon layup tuned for consistent compression and high exit speed across the barrel; the USA Softball (ASA) versions swap in the Inner Core barrel, a dual-layer construction engineered against the tighter USA standard. Two-piece Bedlams use an S-FLEX handle (stiff, so a fast swing turns into ball speed) or an R-FLEX handle (responsive, more comfortable), and one-piece Bedlams give you the direct, connected feel.

The rack has the 2026 Josh Riley Bedlam in XL (.5 oz end load), XXL (1 oz end load, 12" barrel) and Balanced (13.5" barrel) for USSSA, the XL for USA Softball, the blacked-out Bedlam Black XL in both certs, and 2025 one-piece Bedlam Gold and Phil Matte models in balanced and XL. All are 34" in 25 to 28 oz. Prices run from about $160 to $300.

XL, XXL or Balanced

The Bedlam XL is the most versatile bat in the line: a half-ounce end load for momentum through the zone without the commitment of a full ounce, and in four weights (25 to 28 oz) it fits the widest range of hitters. The XXL is the most aggressive Bedlam, a full 1 oz load on a compact 12" barrel for the power hitter who wants maximum momentum. The Balanced runs the biggest barrel in the lineup at 13.5" with no end load, for hitters who win with bat speed and consistent contact. The Bedlam Black XL stretches the X868 barrel to 13.5" with the .5 oz load, in USSSA and a USA version with the Inner Core barrel.

The 2025 Phil Matte and Bedlam Gold are one-piece bats with a 13" barrel; the Phil Matte comes balanced or XL and is the least expensive way into the Bedlam name.

Frequently asked questions

Which Bedlam is legal for USA Softball (ASA)? Only the models with a USA stamp: the Josh Riley Bedlam XL USA and the Bedlam Black XL USA, both with the Inner Core barrel. The rest are USSSA bats, also stamped ISA and NSA.

Does it need a break-in? Yes, like any composite: 100 to 200 hits with a quarter-turn rotation, and keep it out of the cold.

S-FLEX or R-FLEX? S-FLEX is stiffer and transfers more of your swing into the ball; R-FLEX gives a little more comfort and feel. Strong, fast swingers usually prefer S-FLEX.

What is the warranty? One year from Worth on every Bedlam.
