The R9 is Rawlings' step-up fastpitch glove: a soft, durable all-leather shell that is 80% broken in out of the box, a padded thumb sleeve and palm, a pull-strap back and a hand opening cut for a fastpitch player. It is the glove for the travel-ball player who has outgrown a synthetic and is not ready for a $200 Liberty Advanced.
