Sure Catch is Rawlings' entry glove for young players: a lightweight shell that comes about 90% broken in from the factory, a youth-specific fit with a smaller hand opening and shorter finger stalls, and a deep, forgiving pocket that helps a beginner actually squeeze the ball. Patterns are scaled-down versions of Rawlings pro shapes — 9.5" and 10" for the youngest infielders, 10.5" and 11" for most Little Leaguers, 11.5" and 12" for bigger kids and utility use — and several styles carry the look of a pro player's gamer.
Which size?
Ages 5–7 usually fit a 9.5"–10.5"; ages 7–9 a 10.5"–11"; ages 9–11 an 11"–11.5". A 12" is a utility or outfield size for an older youth player. When in doubt, go smaller — a glove a kid can close is a glove that catches.
