Easton Alpha Slowpitch Bats

The Alpha is Easton's USSSA slowpitch composite. Its barrel uses Easton's 232 Barrel Technology, a five-flex-point layup with a plural resin system that varies the compression across the barrel so the whole hitting surface responds instead of just the center. It comes balanced or loaded: the balanced Alpha is for line-drive hitters who rely on bat speed and barrel control, and the Alpha Loaded carries a half-ounce end load for more barrel mass through the zone.

What is here: the 2025 one-piece balanced Alpha with a 13" barrel, the 2025 Alpha Loaded with a 12.75" barrel, and the earlier two-piece balanced and loaded Alphas, all 34" in weights from 25 to 27.5 oz. Every model is stamped USSSA, NSA and ISA. Prices run from about $150 to $200.

Balanced or loaded

The balanced Alpha keeps the weight even along the bat so it swings light and stays under control; pick it if you hit for average, swing 26 oz or less, or want the cheapest way into a 232 barrel. The Alpha Loaded moves a half ounce to the end, which adds momentum at contact and carries the ball deeper, at the cost of a slightly slower swing. Most gap-and-over hitters at 27 oz and up go loaded. The 2025 balanced Alpha is a one-piece build; the 2025 Loaded and the earlier models are two-piece.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Alpha legal in USSSA? Yes, every Alpha here is USSSA stamped, and also NSA and ISA. It is not a USA Softball (ASA) bat.

One-piece or two-piece? The 2025 balanced Alpha is one-piece, stiff and direct. The loaded models and the older balanced Alpha are two-piece with a little more give at contact.

Which weight? 25 to 26 oz if you value bat speed, 27 oz and up if you want to hit it far and can handle the swing.

Does it need a break-in? The 232 barrel is designed to play well from new; a couple hundred swings will settle it in but is not required.
