Easton's senior bats are built for SSUSA play, where the rules let a composite flex more than it can under USSSA. The line is the Tantrum, with Easton's Triple Wall barrel: three composite walls layered to flex together, made from Soft-Ply carbon in a plural resin system, and weighted for hitters who want mass through the zone. Know before you buy: senior bats are sold without a warranty.

What is here: the 2025 Tantrum two-piece with a 12" barrel and CXN MC3+ connection, end-loaded; the Tantrum Motherload one-piece with a 13" barrel and one-ounce end load; the Tantrum Connell one-piece 12.75" with input from Greg Connell; and the 2025 Empire one-piece 13" Motherload. All are 34" in 25 to 27.5 oz and stamped SSUSA and ISA. Prices run from about $200 to $250.

Tantrum: one-piece or two-piece

The two-piece 2025 Tantrum uses the CXN MC3+ connection to cut vibration and the Flex 150 handle for whip, with a compact 12" barrel and a loaded swing weight; it is the pick for a hitter who wants a fast, controlled swing. The one-piece Motherload and Connell models have no connection flex, so energy goes straight into the ball and the feel is stiffer, with a bigger 13" or 12.75" barrel and a full ounce of end load for hitters who want to drive it. The Empire is the one-piece 13" Motherload with the same Triple Wall barrel under a different name.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a warranty? No. Senior softball bats are built to flex further than USSSA bats and are sold without a manufacturer warranty. That is true of every brand, not just Easton.

Are these legal in USSSA or USA Softball? No. They are SSUSA and ISA stamped. Use them in senior leagues only.

What weight should I swing? Most senior hitters run 26 to 27 oz. Go 25 if you have lost some bat speed and want to keep the barrel on time.

Which barrel length? The 12" Tantrum swings quickest; the 13" Motherload bats give the biggest hitting area and the most end-load.
