How much break-in does it need?
Two to four weeks of catch — this is pro-grade leather that is stiff on purpose and holds its pocket for years. A little glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; skip the oven, microwave and shaving cream.
Is 34" the right size?
34" is a catcher pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in right-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
