The Sandlot is Rawlings' full-leather glove for rec-league and weekend players. The shell is full-grain oiled leather that holds its shape and pocket, with Zero Shock palm pads and padded finger back linings for comfort on hard throws. Rawlings backs it with a one-year manufacturer warranty.

On the rack: 11.5" infield with a Pro I web, 11.75" infield with a Modified Trapeze web, 12" pitcher and infield pattern with a closed basket web, 12.75" outfield with a Pro H web, a 12.5" first base mitt and a 33" catcher's mitt. Most are offered in both right- and left-hand throw. Prices run from about $77 to $81.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Sandlot an adult or youth glove? Adult sizing. The 11.5" and 11.75" infield patterns work for older youth players, but the pocket and hand opening are full size.

Which Sandlot is best for a pitcher? The 12" S1200BSH with the closed basket web hides the grip and forms a deep pocket.

How much break-in does it need? The oiled shell comes fairly soft from the factory. Expect a week or two of catch to form the pocket.
