The Victus Vandal is a one-piece aluminum bat with a carbon composite end cap, which is the trick behind its "ultra-balanced" swing: pulling weight out of the end of the bat drops the M.O.I. so the barrel gets through the zone faster. The current Vandal LEV3 uses a VXP alloy barrel and handle for a stiff, traditional feel with a wide sweet spot; the Vandal 2 and original Vandal are the earlier generations of the same idea, and all three are known for having almost no vibration for a single-piece alloy.

On the rack you will find the LEV3 in BBCOR -3 and USSSA -10, -8 and -5 plus a junior big barrel -10, the Vandal 2 in BBCOR and USSSA, and a few closeout original Vandals. Prices run from about $81 for a Vandal 2 USSSA to about $260 for the LEV3 BBCOR.

Vandal, Vandal 2 and LEV3

All three generations are one-piece alloy with a composite end cap and an ultra-balanced swing weight. The original Vandal and the Vandal 2 are the bats that put Victus on the map in metal after its wood-bat run; the Vandal 2 BBCOR in particular earned a reputation for balance, feel and a lack of vibration, and we still recommend it. The LEV3 is the current bat, built on VXP alloy through both the barrel and handle for maximum stiffness and a bigger, hotter sweet spot.

Because the older models are the same concept at a lower price, a Vandal 2 USSSA is one of the best values in the store for a travel-ball player who wants a light-swinging alloy bat.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vandal balanced or end-loaded? Balanced, strongly so. The composite end cap removes weight from the tip of the bat, so the Vandal swings lighter than its listed weight suggests. Power hitters who like an end load should look at the Nox instead.

Does it need a break-in? No. It is one-piece alloy and ready out of the wrapper.

Which drop for USSSA? -10 for most 8 to 11 year olds, -8 for a strong 11 to 12 year old, -5 for a 13U player. The junior big barrel LEV3 -10 is the 26" option for the youngest travel-ball hitters.

What is the warranty, and what does DEMO mean? One year from Victus on new bats. A variant marked DEMO NO WARRANTY is a store demo sold as-is at a discount.
