Description
Description
A jet-black 12.5" first base mitt with gold accents — left-hand throw.
Rawlings Heart of the Hide 12.5" First Base Mitt PROFM18-17B — steerhide, 12.5" first base pattern, H web, Left-hand throw.
Description
The PROFM18-17B was crafted to help you anchor your infield. Its modified H web is a popular choice among pro first basemen for its light weight and give, helping you scoop low throws and maximize your pivot range off the bag, while the wide, flat shell construction flexes to any catching angle without losing stability on ground balls. The striking jet black shell with gold accents lends an air of authority at first. Built from top-grade US steerhide with deer-tanned cowhide palm lining, pro-grade leather laces, and a padded thumb sleeve. This one is a left-hand-throw mitt.
This mitt is part of the Heart of the Hide line; shop the rest of our Rawlings baseball gloves, every first base mitts we stock, or compare across brands — see all baseball gloves.
Leather
Heart of the Hide steerhide (top 5% of hides).

FAQ
How much break-in does it need?
Two to four weeks of catch — this is pro-grade leather that is stiff on purpose and holds its pocket for years. A little glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; skip the oven, microwave and shaving cream.
Is 12.5" the right size?
12.5" is a first base pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
Do you have it in left-hand throw?
This model is stocked in left-hand throw only. Wherever Rawlings makes a left-hand version we list it as a separate Hand option.
