The US steerhide palm and shell are brushed and molded to resemble denim with rich brown stitching and gold accents. Underneath the unique style is a serious mitt: the 13" DCT pattern preferred by many professional first basemen, matched with a single-post, double-bar web that creates a deep pocket to swallow every ball in your direction, and 100 lb tensile-strength pro-quality laces holding it all together.

How much break-in does it need?
Two to four weeks of catch — this is pro-grade leather that is stiff on purpose and holds its pocket for years. A little glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; skip the oven, microwave and shaving cream.
Is 13" the right size?
13" is a first base pattern. As a guide: infield 11.25" to 11.75", pitcher and utility 11.75" to 12", outfield 12.5" to 12.75", catcher's mitts 32" to 34", first base 12.5" to 13". Buy the size that fits now, not the one to grow into.
