Mizuno Prospect Series Youth Fastpitch Softball Catcher's Mitt 32.5" GXS102 312591 — full-grain leather, 32.5" catcher pattern, H web, right- or left-hand throw.
Description
The GXS102 is Mizuno's youth fastpitch catcher's mitt, a 32.5" pattern built so a young catcher can actually close it. PowerClose, Mizuno's technology for easy closure, is the key, helped by a V-Flex notch that starts the fold. The shell is full-grain leather with a ButterSoft palm liner, and a Parashock pad in the palm absorbs the shock of the pitch — the part of catching that makes young players flinch.
The web is an H web, and the wrist uses Mizuno's PowerLock, a polyurethane strap with a pull tab for a quick, secure fit. Black colorway. We currently have it in left-hand throw.

How much break-in does it need?
Very little. PowerClose and the V-Flex notch are there so a young catcher can close it early, and a week of catch forms the pocket.
Is 32.5" the right size?
32.5" is the standard youth fastpitch catcher's size, right for most 9- to 12-year-olds. Move to a 33"–34" adult pattern around 13.
